“Hello darkness, my old friend, I’ve come with talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains
Within the sound of silence”
-Simon and Garfunkle
How fast a song can take you back to, in my case, high school. One of the best songs ever written.
I love that song. I tied that fly and immediately heard those words. I haven’t had an SMB in my box for over a year and I finally got the urge to tie one and go fish it. Damn it did well today. Take care Mark.
Nice bug. What do you call it? Kind if a cone head wooly bugger, eh??? I should get out and throw some bugs today!
That my friend is the one and only Sprinkle Me Baby, its a bugger pattern with a twist, tied and weighted for the creeks of S.E. Minnesota this bad boy is absolutely freakin deadly out here. That one fly took ~2 dozen brown trout in just under an hour and a half yesterday from 2-3:30pm.
Great blog! I really like how you talk about your strategy out on the stream; fishing a streamer, switching to a dry fly when a hatch is on, paying attention to air and water temps. Will there be a video on how to tie an SMB or a recipe for it?
Thanks Isaac, glad you like what I’ve got going on. As for the SMB… well I haven’t decided if I’m going to video that one yet or not. I guess you’ll just have to keep reading. Thanks!
