Winter returns… 8inches of snow fell just two days ago, air temps were good so I shot down to a creek not too far from where I happen to be today just to see how things are looking. Midge were in the air and the trout active. Water was crystal clear and about average flow, basically perfect conditions minus the bright sun casting my shadow everywhere I went. I caught a handful on nymphs and a small streamer then blew out for home, have a couple things that need to happen yet today so the water will have to wait for another day.

On a side note: I would expect things to get pretty dirty and possibly unfishable after Saturday’s potential for rain, the snow will be melting fast and I expect the ground is fairly saturated so it wouldn’t surprise me much of a few larger watersheds browned up a bit through Monday.
